Manchester United is a highly successful English football club, with millions of supporters across the world. Manchester United was one of the first English clubs to play in Europe (1956) and the first to win the European Cup (1968). Returning from a European tie in 1958, Manchester United lost eight players and various club officials in the Munich air disaster.
Manchester United is the only English club to have won the Premiership, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League in the same season (1998-1999), and most recently won the Premier League title in 2012-2013.
